Looking for a summer salad that’s guaranteed to impress? This peach and burrata salad combines sweet grilled peaches, juicy cherries, creamy burrata cheese, and a tangy homemade balsamic vinaigrette for a dish that’s as beautiful as it is delicious.
When peaches are at their peak, I’m always looking for new ways to enjoy them beyond the usual cobblers and crisps. This peach and burrata salad has quickly become one of my favorite summer recipes.
Grilling the peaches and cherries brings out their natural sugars and adds a subtle smoky flavor that makes this salad all the more special. I love how the warm fruit softens the burrata, giving it a rich, creamy texture that melts into the greens.
While the flavor is what keeps me coming back for more, this salad also features ingredients that fit perfectly into a healthy aging lifestyle. Peaches and cherries provide antioxidants that support overall health, while enjoying a variety of colorful fruits is a simple way to nourish both heart and brain health as we age.
Whether you’re hosting friends for dinner, looking for a standout side dish for your next cookout, or simply making the most of the fresh fruits and veggies available this time of year, this peach and burrata salad is proof that healthy eating can be every bit as flavorful and enjoyable as it is nutritious.
What You Need to Make It

For the Salad
Mixed Greens
A green lettuce will work in this salad, so choose what you like, or use what you have on hand. I used a blend of spring greens with baby spinach.
Fresh Peaches
2 fresh, fairly ripe peaches are best for grilling. Cut them in half and remove the pit, then grill them for beautiful grill marks and a caramelized peach flavor.
Fresh Cherries
Pitted whole cherries are delicious as well. I also grilled these along with the peaches. Place them in a grill basket and shake the basket a few times while the peaches are grilling.
Burrata Cheese
If you have never tried burrata cheese, you are in for a treat! This is a cheese made from cow’s milk with a soft outer shell resembling fresh mozzarella. The real treat is inside, where you’ll find mozzarella curds and cream spilling out when you cut into it. Paired with the warm peaches and cherries and balsamic dressing, it is a true treat.
Chopped Walnuts
Just a couple of tablespoons of chopped walnuts are tossed into the salad with the farro. For a richer flavor, toast the walnuts before adding them to the salad.
Cooked Farro
Farro is a hearty whole grain that resembles a firmer, slightly larger grain of rice. It has a rich nutty flavor and is packed with fiber and protein. 1/2 cup adds 6-7 grams of protein and 4-5 grams of fiber to this salad.
For the Vinaigrette
This is a classic balsamic vinaigrette. No frills are needed for this dressing. The vinegar and olive oil provide plenty of flavor, and the honey balances it with a sweet note.
Balsamic Vinegar
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Honey

How To Make the Peach and Burrata Salad

Step 1 – Make the Vinaigrette
In a small mason jar or glass container, place the olive oil, balsamic vinegar, honey, salt, and pepper. Seal it tightly and shake to combine.
Step 2 – Grill the Fruit
Watch my video below for step-by-step instructions on grilling peaches.
Clean and brush the grill with a mild-flavored oil that withstands high heat, such as canola oil. Heat the grill to medium-high, between 425° and 450°F.
Cut the peaches in half and remove the seeds. Brush the cut side with a mild oil. Place the pitted cherries in a grill basket.
Place the peaches, cut side down, on the grill grates. Add the cherries and close the grill to cook both. Shake the grill basket a couple of times during cooking to cook the cherries evenly.
The peaches are done when they easily lift off the grates and have a couple of nice grill marks on the flesh. You can grill them on the skin side if you’d like.
Step 3 – Assemble the Salad
Place the greens in a large bowl and toss in the farro and walnuts. Place the burrata cheese in the center. Arrange the warm peaches and cherries around the burrata and drizzle the salad with the vinaigrette.
Cut the burrata into 4 quarters and serve each person some salad greens with a 1/2 peach, cherries, and 1/4 of the burrata.
How Do You Grill Peaches?
- Choose ripe but firm peaches.
- Cut in half and remove pits.
- Lightly brush with oil.
- Heat the grill to 350°F to 400°F
- Grill cut-side down 3–4 minutes. (You can flip them and grill them on the other side for a couple of minutes if you’d like
Variations
✅ Grilled plums would be a delicious replacement for the cherries.
✅ In place of farro, you could use quinoa, wheat berries, or bulgur wheat.
✅ A premade balsamic vinaigrette would be fine. I prefer the clean flavor of the homemade version, but if you are short on time or don’t have the ingredients, a packaged version would work perfectly well.
