Some mornings, a bright and refreshing smoothie is exactly what I need to get the day started on the right foot. This creamy avocado mango smoothie, blended with kiwi and fresh lime juice, is one of my favorite ways to add a little tropical flavor to my morning routine.
The combination of sweet mango, tangy kiwi, and rich avocado creates a smooth, velvety texture that feels a little indulgent while still packing in plenty of nourishing ingredients.
I also add a scoop of collagen for a little extra support for healthy joints and aging well. I usually stir it into my morning coffee, but it blends perfectly into this smoothie — adding protein without changing the fresh, fruity flavor.
What You Need to Make It

Even though this smoothie has a handful of ingredients, it comes together in just a few minutes. The fresh fruit and mint give it a bright, tropical flavor, while the avocado and yogurt create the creamy texture that makes it feel extra satisfying.
Mango
Mango brings natural sweetness and a bright tropical flavor to this smoothie. It is also a good source of vitamin A, which helps support healthy eyes and a healthy immune system.
You can use fresh or frozen mango chunks. If you don’t know how to cut a mango, check out this video for a simple step-by-step tutorial.
Kiwi
Kiwi and mango are one of my favorite flavor combinations. The kiwi adds a fresh, tangy bite that perfectly balances the mango’s sweetness.
Kiwi is also rich in vitamin C, and some research suggests it may help support sleep. Just one more reason I enjoy them when they are in season.
Avocado
Avocado adds some color and a bit of creaminess to this smoothie. Make sure you get all the flesh, especially the green part closest to the skin. This part of the avocado is full of lutein, an antioxidant that is great for your eyes.
Lime Juice and Zest
The lime juice and zest brighten up all of the flavors and give the smoothie its fresh, citrusy finish.
The acidity also helps keep the avocado from oxidizing too quickly, so the smoothie stays beautifully green instead of turning brown.
Plain Greek Yogurt
Yogurt provides a bit of creaminess. I used non-fat plain Greek yogurt for maximum creaminess, and it allowed me to sweeten the smoothie to my taste, but you could use a vanilla yogurt if you prefer.
Milk
A splash of milk helps thin the smoothie just enough to sip easily through a straw. If you like a thicker, frostier smoothie, you can also add a few ice cubes before blending.
Honey
I like adding a small drizzle of honey to balance the tartness from the kiwi and lime. The fruit already provides plenty of natural sweetness, so you don’t need much. Agave or a little granulated sugar would also work well.
Fresh Mint
Mint adds a little brightness.
Collagen Powder
Collagen powder is one supplement I consistently use, mainly to support joint health as I get older. Some research also suggests it may help support bone health, which is another plus for healthy aging.
I usually stir a scoop into my morning coffee, but it blends seamlessly into this smoothie without affecting the flavor or texture.
How To Make An Avocado Mango Smoothie
A smoothie is pretty simple to make. The most time-intensive part is assembling the ingredients.
Step 1 –
Place the fruit in a blender or food processor and blend until it is smooth.
Step 2 –
Add the yogurt, honey, and avocado with the lime juice and zest, mint, and collagen, and blend until creamy.
Step 3 –
Drizzle the milk through the feed tube while the processor runs until you reach the desired texture.
Storage Tips
This creamy smoothie is best enjoyed right after you make it.
It can be stored overnight in a tightly sealed mason jar or container in the refrigerator. It may darken slightly, but the lime juice will preserve the color fairly well.
You can freeze this, but the yogurt may cause it to separate when it thaws, so you may need to blend it again if you want a true smoothie texture.
Another alternative is to try freezing this in popsicle molds and enjoying it as a frozen treat.
Variations
You could add a banana if you like, or swap the kiwi with pineapple or other tropical fruit.
You can use a plant-based yogurt and milk if you are dairy-free.
If you want a little more protein, you could use a protein powder in place of the collagen.
